Windows XPSP2 Locale Info
Windows stores quite a bit of info in its NLS Database. This page represents a small sampling of that information,
for every language that it contains information on. Many new locales were added in SP2 of Windows XP. The column
meanings are given below:
- iso639langname - The abbreviated name of the language based entirely on ISO Standard 639
- iso3166ctryname - Country/region name, based on ISO Standard 3166
- lcid - The Windows locale ID
- nativelangname - Native name of the language
- nativectryname - Native name of the country/region
- nativecurrname - Native name of the currency associated with the locale
- nativedigits - Native equivalents to ASCII 0-9 (U+0030-U+0039)
- sortname - Full localized name of the sort for the specified locale identifier, dependent on the language of the shell
- shortdateformat - Short date formatting string for this locale
- timeformat - Time formatting strings for this locale
- englanguage - Full English name of the language from the ISO Standard 639
- engcountry - Full English name of the country/region
- engcurrname - Full English name of the currency associated with the locale
